Frequently asked questions.

Are your Cattle Grass Fed?

Our cattle are raised on our farm by myself and my husband. We are hands on and feed and care for them every day. They are raised on grass pastures and when they are weaned they continue to be on pasture and are started and finished on grain. We believe this delivers the best beef possible!

What Beef options do you offer?

Currently, we offer a whole steer and a 1/2 steer option.

What is the beef price?

A whole steer is $7.50 a lb on the hanging weight.
1/2 steer is $8.00 a lb on the hanging weight.

That includes the processing fees.

If you’re not familiar with the hanging weight that is what the steer weighs once the unusable portions (hide, feet, etc) are removed. The hanging weight of a whole steer is approximately 60% +/- of the live weight.  On average the live weight is approximately 1,000 lbs so the hanging weight would be 600 lbs. 600 x 7.50 lb = $4,500.00 for a whole steer. You will get approximately 300 lbs of beef. A half would be approximately $2,400.00.  This will give you approximately 150 lbs of beef.

These are all estimates. We will get the actual weight when they get to the processor.

If I purchase beef, where do I pick it up?

Customer can choose to pick up the beef at the processor or at our farm in Cross City.
